Second Hoof: The Basics
Hey everyone, I hope you're all getting back into the swing of things after the Christmas break and getting the New Year off to a good start!
I thought I'd start off our updates with sharing with you our reasoning behind starting our business, so hopefully you can share our passions too! Below are the 3 core principles behind Second Hoof and what we are striving to achieve. I hope these allow you to share our vision of helping the equestrian community to become a sustainable and caring environment, both for ourselves and the planet!
1. Sustainability
Sustainability is at the heart of our business. With the fashion industry fast becoming one of the most damaging industry's globally, it has been a long term goal of mine to be able to contribute towards postitive changes. The equestrian industry also gains so much from the countryside, so we must do as much as possible to protect it! Therefore, Second Hoof is providing an easy, risk free way of shopping preloved clothes, reducing the amount of clothing sent to landfill and the demand for new garments.
2. Save
By purchasing preloved items you are not only saving the environment but your wallet too! We want to provide everyone the opportunity to feel good whilst riding, enabling you to perform at your best. Therefore, we aim to cater for every budget. And by only stocking the highest quality brands we hope that quality over quantity will save money in the long run. We also wanted to remove the potential risks of shopping second hand, such as an items fit and its condition. To solve these issues we have created a returns policy and conditon scoring for each item, so our customers can trust what they are purchasing.
3. Sell
To encourage a circular fashion cycle within the equestrian industry we have created a hassle free way to sell your unwanted items. We understand how hetic life with horses can get and finding the spare time to recycle your clothes can be struggle! So all we require is quality photos to ensure your items are suitable and we'll send out a free postage label meaning we can deal with the rest. We want to encourage everyone to do the right thing by the environment, and what better way then a bit of extra cash for items currently going to waste?
Wishing you all the best for the rest of 2023,
Jess x
